What does the analyzer show?
It fetches your sitemap.xml (following sitemap indexes), then reports total URLs, language prefix distribution (/zh-CN/, /ja/ etc.), how recently pages were updated, and sample URLs.
Why does my sitemap show as an index?
Large sites split URLs across multiple child sitemaps linked from a sitemap index. We follow up to 8 children automatically and combine the counts.
How are languages detected?
We look for common language prefixes in URL paths: /zh-CN/, /ja/, /ko/, /es/ and so on. A sitemap without prefixes is treated as a single-language site.
Why does my URL count differ from my page count?
Sitemaps list canonical URLs only. Pages excluded by canonical rules, noindex, or those never linked may be missing — that's normal.
What should I do with the results?
If languages are missing, your translated pages aren't in the sitemap. If URLs are stale, rebuild it. Submit the fixed sitemap via IndexNow or GSC.
